The flight sim won't load.

The Drone Pathways flight simulator may take a few minutes to load the first time you access it.

The FLEX UAV Flight Simulator is available within the Drone Pathways courses in your Digital Resource Portal account.

The first time you access the simulator on a new computer or browser, your browser needs to cache the necessary resources.

  • Depending on the speed of your computer and internet connection, this process may take a few minutes.
  • In most cases, the simulator may take 1-2 minutes to load for the first time.
  • On extremely slow connections, please allow up to 10 minutes to load the flight sim for the first time.
  • Afterwards, the flight sim should load right away the next time you access it on that browser.

 

If you have waited 10 minutes and the flight sim screen is still blank, OR if you encounter an error message:

  1. First, clear your browser cache (sometimes called "delete site data") for resources.edventures.com. Then, sign back into the resource portal and try again.
  2. If this did not help, please reach out to support@edventures.com for assistance.

 

Why does the simulator take so long to load?

We host the flight simulator online so that educators and students can access it from anywhere without needing to install an app. Since the simulator streams over the internet, you may experience delays in opening the simulator for the first time if you have an extremely slow connection. Once it has loaded, everything should work smoothly! And the next time you access it, it should boot up quickly.

On the first day you will use the simulator, we recommend opening it up in a new tab at the beginning of class so it will be ready by the time you need it.
